To say that I enjoyed being a Wood Badge staffer would be a total and complete understatement. I'm just sad to know that I can only staff, in any capacity, four more times. National has put a limit on it!
Not only has my passion for Scouting been re-lit, my desire to help our Scouts achieve their potential has come to the forefront. We have had little to no leadership training for our Scouts in the two years we have been in the Troop. I know in the past this training did take place. Time to bring it back!!! Of course, I volunteered to spearhead this effort....can't take the teacher out of the girl.
Additionally, next month (Feb 2020) I'll be taking over a Committee Chair for Pack 209. Not a big stretch of the imagination since I was CC for about three years with Pack 339. Just couldn't go back there. Leadership is struggling and I feel as though their days are numbered.
Anyway, my point it, I would staff another Wood Badge course in a heartbeat! I think EVERY leader needs to take the course. Good stuff come out of it!
